   Locations can only be chosen from a list; there is no interactive world map in the app. Somewhat confusing is the different selection of countries in the app and on the service’s website. We were able to log in to all the servers presented on the site, so the site probably just hasn’t been updated.

   The configuration of each server varies, so for example, not all protocols can be used in all locations. The same is true for some features, such as private DNS.    VPN Proxy Master offers a reliable kill switch, which is one of the basic features of all VPNs. The kill switch disconnects the device from the Internet when the connection to the private network server fails. This prevents the user’s real IP address from being revealed or their data from being compromised. Automatic reconnection to the VPN can be activated if the connection fails.

   Multi-hop is not available for better protection by connecting through two servers simultaneously. This feature, also known as Double VPN, is only offered by some of the leading services on the market.

   The available protocols vary from platform to platform and server to server, but in general, you can choose from IKEv1, IKEv2, OpenVPN UDP, OpenVPN TCP, Wireguard, Trojan, SSR, and ISSR. By default, the application is set to automatically connect via the optimal protocol. You can easily change the settings and select the protocol manually.

   VPN Proxy Master can be recommended for use with streaming video with a minor caveat. The VPN offers dedicated servers designed to unblock video on popular foreign platforms. We asked tech support which specific streaming platforms the service can unblock, but the employee avoided answering.

   In testing VPN Proxy Master‘s ability to unblock geo-restricted content, we tried specialized servers as well as those designed for general use. On the Netflix, Disney Plus, and Amazon Prime Video platforms, foreign content could only be watched using servers from the special offer. We were also able to unblock YouTube when connected to regular servers, whereas we were never successful with HBO Max and Hulu.

   Streaming companies try to prevent the use of VPNs when watching videos by blocking known IP addresses of these services. As a result, the VPN may fail to unblock the video. In case of such difficulties, you can try disconnecting from the private network and reconnecting immediately. This should change the IP address to another one that may not be on the block list. The help from VPN Proxy Master for such problems is quite general, so it is better to contact customer support directly.

   Our measured download speed of 142 Mb/s is sufficient for 4K video playback, where 50 Mbps is usually quoted as required.

   Given the failure to unblock streams from HBO Max and Hulu for streaming video purposes, we still prefer to recommend NordVPN or Surfshark. Both have high transfer speeds, excellent security levels, and have successfully unblocked all video platforms tested.

   One of the few supported features is automatic connection when the application starts or when the VPN fails. You can also enable Wi-Fi protection, where the VPN will automatically start when connected to an insecure network.

   The VPN Proxy Master extension for Google Chrome allows you to hide VPN connections, but only within that browser. Only a few servers are available, and you can only hide the connection for 60 minutes per day. Extending this time with money is not possible.

   Neither a static nor a dedicated IP address is available for free or for an additional fee. Its advantage lies in its fixed allocation to a specific user and the ability to choose its location; only some VPN providers offer this feature.

    VPN applications usually don’t overload your computer to the point that it reduces your comfort in using them. VPN Proxy Master took about 4% of the computing power of the Macbook Air test laptop, and it used roughly the same amount of battery capacity. The VPN used 70 MB of RAM, which is average among apps.

    If you don’t turn off the VPN Proxy Master app completely, it will still run in the background even if the VPN connection is not active. To ensure zero load on the device, you can close the app completely.
