   The measured download speed of 172 Mb/s is above average compared to other VPNs, so Malwarebytes Privacy VPN can be used for downloading bulky files. While the speed is fast enough for watching 4K video content, Malwarebytes Privacy VPN had major problems unblocking platforms.

   The average upload value of 139 Mb/s was also very good, so Malwarebytes Privacy VPN can be used for torrenting or data sharing.

   The response value of 35 ms is marginally sufficient for VPN-enabled video gaming or secure video calls. The services at the top of the rankings performed better; for example, we measured that CyberGhost VPN had 11 ms and AdGuard VPN had 7 ms.    During testing of Malwarebytes Privacy VPN, we achieved very limited success. While we were able to play video from Netflix and HBO, we were unable to unblock foreign libraries. A stream from Amazon Prime failed to load at all, instead displaying a message warning us to not use a VPN.

   We were only able to unlock video from Disney Plus and YouTube platforms. The average measured download speed of 172 Mb/s is sufficient for 4K video playback on its own. For this, a minimum speed of at least 50 Mbps is specified as necessary.

   For unblocking foreign content on streaming platforms, other VPNs are preferable; we achieved very good results with NordVPN and Surfshark. Both VPNs unblocked all platforms tested, have sufficient speed for 4K playback, and are perfectly secure to boot.

    The macOS app took about 40 MB of RAM and around 100 MB of the computer’s hard drive. Malwarebytes Privacy VPN is very CPU and battery friendly, with a load in both cases of within 1%.
