    • The app lacks basic security features
    • VPN can only be used on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS
    • The security of the service is not independently audited
    • Cannot switch between connection protocols
    • Customer support does not respond to inquiries
    • Unblocked most streaming services
    • Servers are available in 64 countries
    • The application includes an antivirus
    • The app is translated into 18 languages

Panda Dome VPN is operated by the Spanish company Panda Security, S.L.U., which is part of the multinational WatchGuard Technologies, Inc. In our features and specs test, Panda Dome VPN earned an overall grade of 7.0/10, ranking it #44 out of 90 reviewed VPNs.

Panda Dome VPN lost points in the review mainly due to its limited security features, the app doesn’t support whitelisting, doesn’t have a working kill switch or DNS leak protection. Advanced multi-hop and Tor network connectivity are also missing.

The Panda Dome VPN app is only available for the core Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS platforms. Another shortcoming is that it doesn’t allow switching between available protocols and the security of the service has not been independently audited.

Panda Dome VPN‘s customer support was among the worst we encountered while reviewing the VPN, as we didn’t receive a response to any of the questions we sent.

Panda Dome VPN has the advantage of a fairly wide selection of 64 available locations, including many countries in Asia or South America. The Panda Dome VPN app is translated into 18 languages and includes an antivirus.

Panda Dome VPN can handle unblocking videos from most streaming platforms including Netflix, YouTube, and Disney Plus. According to the operator’s claims, no logs are generated when using the VPN.

  2. Panda Dome VPN Subscription: Discount Code, Free Trial, Money Back Guarantee…

There are two different ways to get a Panda Dome VPN subscription.

The first way is the VPN itself, which includes an antivirus solution, USB protection, and monitoring of running processes as a bonus. All three services help protect your device. A flexible monthly subscription, which can be cancelled at any time, costs $5.35. The price of the most affordable subscription option for three years is $2.24 per month when paid in advance.

The other way is Panda Dome Premium, which includes everything from the previous variant and adds a password and update manager or a tool to optimize the device’s operation. The Panda Dome Premium solution includes a no-quibble money-back guarantee within 30 days of ordering. To take advantage of it, just contact customer support and the money will be sent to your account within 14 days.

You can use a credit card or PayPal to pay for your subscription. Cryptocurrency or cash payments are not supported.

Trial version of Panda Dome VPN is available for 30 days for free, you need to fill in your credit card number to use it. In addition to the paid version, there is also Panda Dome VPN Free, which can be used for free for an unlimited period of time. Its disadvantage is a number of limitations such as a limit on the amount of data transferred, lower speed or the lack of the ability to choose the location of the connection.

Panda Dome VPN doesn’t offer any discounts on subscriptions, for example for students or for recommending the service to friends.

With one user account, Panda Dome VPN can be used on 5 devices simultaneously. While this number will probably be enough for most users, it is below average in the context of the reviewed VPNs. For example, Surfshark can be actively used on up to 999 devices.

Support for different device types is one of the weakest points of Panda Dome VPN. The app is only available for Windows and Mac OS computers and for Android and iOS mobile devices.

Panda Dome VPN can’t be used on alternative Linux and Chromebook platforms, Playstation and Xbox gaming consoles, or on smart TVs and media centers such as Android TV, Apple TV, Fire TV, Kodi, or Roku. VPNs can’t even be used through a router, where you could simply protect all devices connected to the same network.

Panda Dome VPN also doesn’t offer browser extensions.

To secure devices that Panda Dome VPN doesn’t support, we recommend prioritizing one of the top-rated VPNs. We can recommend NordVPN or Proton VPN Plus, which support all major platforms, achieve very high transfer speeds and guarantee a high level of security.

  4. Panda Dome VPN App: User-Friendliness, Whitelist, Server Selection…

    • App Languages: 🇺🇸 English +17 more🇩🇪 German 🇫🇷 French 🇵🇹 Portuguese 🇮🇹 Italian 🇨🇳 Chinese 🇷🇺 Russian 🇵🇱 Polish 🇫🇮 Finnish 🇹🇷 Turkish 🇳🇱 Dutch 🇸🇪 Swedish 🇭🇺 Hungarian 🇩🇰 Danish 🇳🇴 Norwegian 🇬🇷 Greek 🇧🇬 Bulgarian 🇸🇮 Slovenian
    • Whitelisting:
      No
Whitelisting is supported by 52 % of reviewed VPNs

Logging in to the Panda Dome VPN app requires the creation of a user account via email and password. Registering via a less anonymous Facebook, Google or Microsoft account is not possible.

The appearance of the Panda Dome VPN app doesn’t differ much between the desktop and mobile versions. The interface is rendered in light colors, switching to dark mode is not possible. The app environment is translated into 18 languages.

The home screen displays a group of icons, each representing a specific service from the Panda group. Their availability depends on the subscription purchased. To connect to the server, you must first click on the VPN icon. Once clicked, you will see a button to disconnect, the connection status and, if applicable, a list of available servers.

To select a specific connection location, you must first select it from the list and then additionally click on the button to turn it on. Connecting to the server is fast, having usually taken only a few seconds. Using the on/off toggle button, you can quickly connect to the last selected site.

The application notifies all important events via notifications. For example, information about successful connection or disconnection from the server. During testing, the Windows application worked smoothly without any stuttering or other difficulties.

For fast connections, you can choose to automatically connect to the fastest server at the time. Unfortunately, you cannot add individual sites to your favorites, you always have to manually select one from a rather long list.

In the Panda Dome VPN settings, you can activate the automatic connection to the VPN when you turn on the device without any necessary interaction. The application runs in the background in minimized mode during the entire period of use, and its complete termination is possible via the icon in the system tray.

Panda Dome VPN lacks the whitelist feature, which allows you to select apps that will connect directly to the internet even when VPN protection is activated.

Alongside the VPN, Panda Dome VPN has an integrated antivirus that continuously detects and blocks malware on the device. Optionally, devices connected to the USB port can also be scanned and all running processes on the device can be monitored. In case the device is infected with a virus, a rescue backup can be created on the USB drive to retrieve the settings and remove the malware from the device.

  5. Panda Dome VPN Connection Speed: Upload, Download & Latency

    • Traffic limit: Unlimited

    Download speed

    Upload speed

    Server latency

Panda Dome VPN does not limit the user in the amount of data transferred, which is standard among paid services.

Establishing a connection to the VPN server was quick and seamless during our testing. We measured the speed repeatedly using the automatic server selection, and below are the averages of the individual values.

Download speeds are well above average for Panda Dome VPN. We measured 388 Mb/s, which is an excellent value for downloading bulky files or watching ultra-high definition video. For it, at least 50 Mbps is stated as necessary.

The upload speed of 91 Mb/s is also above average, which is sufficient for backing up bulky files.

The response time of the servers reached 21 ms on average. This makes the Panda Dome VPN usable for computer gaming, video chatting, or other activities prone to response speeds. For her, unlike transfer speeds, a lower value is better. The best VPNs like NordVPN achieve response times as low as around 11 ms.

  6. Panda Dome VPN Server Locations

    • Number of servers:
      1,000
The average number of servers for the reviewed VPNs is 1699.
    • Number of countries:
      64
The average number of countries available for the reviewed VPNs is 41.

Africa 🇪🇬 Egypt 🇿🇦 South Africa
Oceania 🇦🇺 Australia 🇳🇿 New Zealand

Panda Dome VPN operates 1,000 servers in 64 countries. The selection of locations is above average compared to other VPNs.

Most of Panda Dome VPN‘s servers are located in Europe, with a fairly wide selection of locations on each continent. There are some locations that are not common among VPN providers. These include Andorra, Malta, Monaco, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Chile, Cambodia, Pakistan, Nepal, and Egypt.

Panda Dome VPN servers are also available in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Of the countries with censored internet, Russia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates are represented.

Nowhere does Panda Dome VPN specify which servers are physical and which are virtual. In general, it can be assumed that especially servers allocated in exotic countries are only virtual. This means that the hardware is physically located in a different country than the one the application connects to. This practice can cause problems in geo-block circumvention, as some websites misjudge the user’s location.

There are no servers specifically optimized for torrenting or gaming, for example, in the Panda Dome VPN offering. All provided features and protocols are fully supported on all servers.

  7. Panda Dome VPN Security Features: DNS Leak Protection, Kill Switch…

    • DNS leak protection :
      No
DNS leak protection is offered by 92% of the reviewed VPNs.
    • Kill Switch:
      No
Kill Switch is supported by 87% of the reviewed VPNs.
    • Multi-Hop:
      No
Multi-Hop connection is offered by 20 % of the VPNs reviewed.
    • Tor:
      No
Tor support is offered by 19 % of the reviewed VPNs.

In terms of security features, Panda Dome VPN ranks among the worst services we’ve tested. The app lacks reliable DNS leak protection that could hide the user’s real IP address, thus ensuring anonymity while using the internet.

The app also lacks a relatively common kill switch feature that disconnects the device from the internet when the connection to the VPN server is lost. This ensures that the user’s IP address and actual location are not revealed.

When it comes to the security protocols used, Panda Dome VPN is not very sharing. In the app, one can only read that it uses the now obsolete IPSec protocol. The transmitted data is protected by 256-bit AES encryption, which is very secure.

Missing from the advanced security features of Panda Dome VPN is the multi-hop connection, for which the Double VPN label is sometimes used. It is offered by NordVPN or Proton VPN Plus, for example. The principle of multi-hop is to connect through two different VPN servers at the same time, so that if the first layer of protection is breached, a second layer still protects the user. The downside of this feature can be lower connection speeds.

Panda Dome VPN doesn’t support Tor connections either. Access to the user account can be secured via two-factor password authentication through a custom app.

  8. Panda Dome VPN & Streaming: Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime…

    • Amazon Prime:
      Yes
Amazon Prime streaming is supported by 52 % of reviewed VPNs
    • Disney+:
      Yes
Disney+ streaming is supported by 53 % of reviewed VPNs
    • HBO:
      No
HBO streaming is supported by 57 % of reviewed VPNs
    • Hulu:
      Yes
Hulu streaming is supported by 49 % of reviewed VPNs
    • Netflix:
      Yes
Netflix streaming is supported by 67 % of reviewed VPNs
    • YouTube:
      Yes
YouTube streaming is supported by 97 % of reviewed VPNs

Although Panda Dome VPN doesn’t run any servers specifically optimized for streaming, we were able to unblock most services in our test.

As a result, we were able to play normally inaccessible foreign libraries on Netflix, YouTube, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu. The only platform that blocked the connection was HBO.

Video playback was smooth and there was no annoying stuttering or loading of content during playback. The credit for this can be given to the achieved download speed (388 Mb/s on average), which is sufficient for streaming 4k video. The minimum required for this is 50 Mbps.

Some streaming platforms combat the use of VPNs by blocking the IP addresses of these services. There are two solutions. Sometimes it is sufficient to simply disconnect and reconnect from the server, which may result in the IP address changing to a different, non-blocked one. The second solution is to prefer premium services like Surfshark or NordVPN, which have many IP addresses and stream reliably.

  9. Features of Panda Dome VPN: AdBlock, Static IP…

    • Blocks Ads:
      No
Ad blocking is offered by 44 % of the VPNs reviewed.
    • Blocks Malware:
      Yes
Malware blocking is offered by 33 % of the VPNs reviewed.
    • Blocks Trackers:
      No
Trackers blocking is offered by 38 % of the VPNs reviewed.

Panda Dome VPN offers some extra features that are not among the usual features of VPN apps.

One of them is a built-in antivirus at the base that continuously scans devices for malware. If a threat is found, it will block it. With the app, you can quickly check all newly connected USB devices such as flash drives or phones for threats. However, Panda Dome VPN cannot block ads or trackers.

Also not available is the camouflage mode, which can hide active VPN protection from the ISP and website operators. The feature is especially useful in places where VPN use is generally undesirable, camouflage also contributes to better results when bypassing geo-blocking.

All Panda Dome VPN servers feature a static IP address that always remains the same and does not change when connecting or disconnecting.

No other additional or extra features are offered by Panda Dome VPN. Optionally, you can purchase a higher package from Panda Security, which also includes a password manager or a tool to optimize computer performance. In essence, this is just another subscription on top of the VPN that unlocks the relevant features in the existing app.

  10. Panda Dome VPN‘s CPU usage and App Performance

Most VPN apps are developed to have minimal impact on the smooth running of the device. This is also true for Panda Dome VPN, which we did not notice any negative impact on computer performance during our testing. The integrated antivirus, which continuously scans the hard drive, also had no impact.

After the crossbar is turned off, the Panda Dome VPN application continues to run in the background, where it only reduces its demands and uses only RAM. Its complete termination is possible via the Task Manager. There is no option to completely exit the app in hidden icons, this is also true for the mobile version.

  11. Panda Dome VPN Torrenting Servers

    • Torrenting servers:
      Yes
Torrenting support is offered by 89 % of the reviewed VPNs.

Panda Dome VPN does not operate any servers specifically optimized for P2P transfers. All servers are assigned a static IP address.

For torrenting purposes, Panda Dome VPN is not a suitable choice as it lacks functional DNS leak protection and a kill switch. Both features guarantee torrenting users the desired anonymity. Without these features, there is a risk that the real IP address may be revealed to other users.

The average download (388 Mb/s) and upload (91 Mb/s) speeds we achieve are sufficient for torrenting purposes.

To ensure maximum possible security and anonymity when torrenting, we recommend that you prefer other services. CyberGhost VPN, NordVPN or Proton VPN Plus guarantee an excellent level of privacy, high transfer speeds and a number of superior features.

  12. What Is the Country of Origin Of Panda Dome VPN?

    • VPN Provider: WatchGuard Technologies, Inc.
    • Country of origin: 🇪🇸 Spain

Panda Dome VPN is operated by Panda Security, S.L.U., based in Bilbao, Spain. Founded on June 26, 1990, it has been focused on information technology protection since the beginning.

In terms of ownership structure, the company falls under the parent group WatchGuard Technologies, Inc., which was founded in 1996 and is based in Seattle, USA. WatchGuard Technologies develops a range of network, device or cloud security tools for businesses and end consumers.

For some users, the fact that Panda Security, S.L.U. is based in Spain may be of concern. The country is a member of the 9 Eyes alliance of groups whose intelligence services and other authorities monitor Internet traffic. They can require VPN operators to hand over information about specific users if they suspect a security or other threat. VPN operators are legally obliged to comply.

  13. Panda Dome VPN and Privacy: Logging Policy, Security Issues…

    • No-Logs Policy:
      Yes
The No-Logs Policy is followed by 78% of reviewed VPNs.

Panda Dome VPN states that it adheres to a zero log storage policy. This policy means that no sensitive user information such as IP addresses, site visit history, DNS queries, or device identifiers are stored when using the app.

Any information collected by Panda Dome VPN is limited to that which is necessary to maintain the user’s account. This includes username, email address, password and payment method.

Neither the app nor Panda Dome VPN itself has been independently audited, so zero log storage cannot be guaranteed. However, to date, there are no known cases of Panda Dome VPN users’ personal data being leaked or handed over to the courts or police.

An even higher level of privacy could be achieved if Panda Dome VPN servers used only RAM memory, which does not allow long-term data collection. The information stored in RAM is continuously overwritten and is deleted, for example, when the server restarts or shuts down. According to the available information, Panda Dome VPN does not use these servers.

  14. Panda Dome VPN Support: Chat, e-mail…

Customer support is available via a form on the Panda Dome VPN website. Our experience with support has been purely negative, as we have not received a response to any of the questions we have sent within 14 days.

Technical support staff can still be contacted by phone, the hotline works exclusively in English.

The form can be accessed directly from the app by simply clicking on the relevant button. You will then be presented with several options, including a link to the discussion forum, a page with solutions to the most common problems or a support phone number.

  15. Panda Dome VPN FAQ

Is Panda Dome VPN a trustworthy service?
Panda Dome VPN can be considered a relatively trustworthy VPN. When using the app, it does not generate logs that can be used to read back IP addresses, websites visited, or identify devices used. So far, there are no known cases of user data leaks or of Panda Dome VPN‘s operator cooperating with the police or courts.

However, the service lacks independent third-party verification to confirm the operator’s claims. Panda Dome VPN also lacks important kill switch security features and DNS leak protection. To ensure maximum anonymity on the internet, we recommend giving NordVPN, Surfshark or Proton VPN Plus a try.

    Is Panda Dome VPN free?
Panda Dome VPN is a paid service that is available in the form of various packages with additional tools. The price of the most affordable subscription option is $2.24 per month, the condition is to subscribe for a longer period of time and pay in advance.

Free for an unlimited period of time is Panda Dome VPN Free, which is backed by the same company. The disadvantages of the free option are limited features and worse VPN performance. Users cannot choose a specific connection location and are severely limited by a daily limit on the amount of data transferred.

Can Panda Dome VPN unblock Netflix?
Yes, Panda Dome VPN was able to unblock Netflix’s US library during our testing. Video playback was smooth and didn’t stutter even at the ultra-high resolution we selected.
